He was appointed Indian Agent for the Makah Indians in 1874, and he discusses his work on the Neah Bay Reservation, his removal from office, and his experiences in Washington, D. C., in 1877 while answering charges of malfeasance. In 1881 he became pastor of the Congregational Church in Eureka, California; in describing his work in Eureka, he discusses the expulsion of the Chinese from Eureka and Humboldt County. Tipped on are "The Analysis of Character: What is its Only Foundation? by Rev. C. A. Huntington," typescript, 1900, discussing the lives of his parents, Jonathan and Sally Huntington; and two printed pamphlets, both containing a photograph of Huntington and his wife, Lucretia Atwood Waterman Huntington: "Golden Wedding of Rev. and Mrs. C.
